Spectacular roads descend to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, from Jerusalem and Arad. The Ministry of Tourism wanted to express this fact. We suggested a series of "contour lines" along the highways to mark changes in elevation. Level walls of local stone with a single horizontal strip of blue ceramic tiles mark each 100 meter contour. Clear aluminum numbers give the level, easily seen from the highway in a fast moving car.
